BEGINNER FLY TYING CLASSES

• Dates: First class January 8th - More TBD • The cost is $70.00 per student and class will last 2 hours • Classes limited to six people (Four students minimum for the class to take place) • Private fly-tying classes are available. Inquire for pricing. • All levels, no experience needed. Minimum age 13. • Materials and tools are included in the price of the class. Feel free to bring your own tools. • The 2 patterns we will be tying: Foam Spider, Woolly Bugger Join us at the Framery to learn how to tie flies that are effective on our local waters and beyond. Catching a fish on a fly you tied yourself is a thrill like no other. In class we will teach you step-by-step how to tie fly patterns that we use locally on our guided trips. This class is for all levels – whether you’ve never tied flies or you’ve tied flies that fail once they hit the water. We’ll cover the basics and answer any questions you may have. This class will have have you tying flies and understanding the techniques quickly. Fly Patterns Overview - The Foam Spider fly is a high-floating dry fly known for its simplicity, visibility, and durability. Mimicking a terrestrial spider, it’s incredibly effective for catching panfish (bluegill, crappie), bass, and trout. The Woolly Bugger is a highly versatile and effective streamer fly known for its simple yet irresistible way of mimicking everything from crayfish and leeches to baitfish.
